Tucson MidWinter Update

The results are in from the MidWinter Convention in Tucson, AZ and the HD Chorus took top honors at the International Youth Chorus Festival. With a score of 2254 (83.5 average) they are the Plateau AAA Champions and received the highest overall score by a margin of 160 points. Congratulations to Director Alex Rubin and all the young men of the HD Chorus. In other Tucson news, Rusty Pipes (JAD) is the new International Seniors Champion, and our representative to the contest, OLD GUYS RULE, finished in 11th place. 5th place International Medalist and current Sunshine District Quartet Champions Main Street was unable to perform on the Friday night show, but the audience was delighted by another SUN favorite, The Humdingers, who appeared in their place closing the evening with a high energy show. Next year the MidWinter Convention will return to the Sunshine District, so make plans to attend January 8-13 in Orlando.
