About Sarasota Chorus of the Keys
The Sarasota Chorus of the Keys has been entertaining Suncoast audiences for 76
years, having been organized in 1949. The Chorus, consisting of men who are
seasonal and permanent Florida residences, is a chapter of the Barbershop
Harmony Society (BHS), a not-for-profit organization with headquarters in
Nashville, Tennessee. The BHS has chapters in the USA and Canada and is
affiliated with barbershop groups in several foreign countries.
As a lifelong hobby, Chorus members love “a cappella” four-part harmony singing
and sharing their uniquely American barbershop style with others. Throughout
each year the Chorus and its quartets perform at public and private events, present
an Annual Show in February, and compete with other choruses/quartets at Florida
State District conventions.
“For more than seven decades, our Annual Show has been known for the love and
laughter that is shared with audiences as we bring together the harmony of the
music and of the men who have worked diligently to present a high-quality
concert,” said Ken Rear, Chorus of the Keys president. “We are thrilled to be a
part of the incredible legacy that has made Sarasota the cultural destination it is
today.” Please visit our website at: www.chorusofthekeys.org
